A community update regarding COVID-19

Dear White Horse Village Community,

On Tuesday, December 8, we conducted Residential-wide COVID19 testing following the Thanksgiving holiday.  Earlier this week, we received all of the test results back from that testing and of 365 tests completed, 16 Residential residents had positive test results.  They, along with any spouses, began a quarantine period.  Thankfully, those 16 residents have remained asymptomatic and will be able to come off of quarantine tomorrow (Saturday, December 19).    It is assumed that the increase in positive cases is attributed to the increase in viral activity in the general public along with the Thanksgiving holiday interactions people have had.

We are getting a lot of questions regarding vaccines.  White Horse Village has enrolled in the federal government’s distribution program and we are waiting on final details regarding when and how the vaccine will be administered to our residents and team members.  We do know that residents living in our healthcare areas, along with the team members working in those areas, will be in the first tier of vaccine administration.   It is our plan to share a FAQ on the vaccine early next week.

With Christmas coming next week, we are strongly discouraging visitors to our campus and encouraging residents and their families to utilize telephone and/or video conferencing (such as ZOOM) to “spend time together” for the holiday. These gatherings continue to put our residents at increased risk of being exposed to, and potentially spreading, COVID-19 within our community.

For those that just finished celebrating Hanukah, Chag Sameach!
