Do CCRCs offer different types of residency agreements?

Yes, two common types are Lifecare and Fee-for-Service. At a Fee-for-Service CCRC, residents have the full continuum of healthcare services but costs increase as the resident moves to either personal care or nursing care. At a Lifecare CCRC, residents pay a slightly larger monthly fee in residential (independent) living, but if residents move to either personal care or nursing care, the costs remain the same (except for annual increases) and don’t escalate like they do in a Fee-for-Service community.
