White Horse Village Awards Almost $54,000 in Scholarships to Team Members

Residents at White Horse Village are building momentum for their efforts to support the education of team members, awarding $53,888 in scholarships to 28 recipients for their studies this fall.

This is the largest number of scholarships the White Horse Village Foundation has ever given out at one time. The nonprofit organization is supported by gifts from residents at the senior living community and their families, along with team members, board members, and business partners.

The Foundation has long prioritized education for team members. Together with awards offered this spring, the organization has funded more than $89,000 in scholarships in 2023 alone, and nearly $500,000 since 1997 for team members seeking to advance their careers.

“Over the years, given that the team members are such an integral and important part of the White Horse community, the residents have generously given to the scholarship program, feeling it is a tangible and substantive way of supporting them to pursue their educational goals,” said Robert Bruce, chair of the White Horse Village Foundation’s board.

These team members work in a range of capacities throughout White Horse Village, including dining, healthcare, housekeeping, administration and more.

Team members go through a rigorous application process for these scholarships, and eligibility requirements include attending accredited institutions. They’re also required to submit final course transcripts.

Congratulations to the August 2023 recipients:
